When a wedding and a festival collide - "Wedstivals"

The sun is shining so it appears summer is finally here,(hopefully we have not spoken too soon). this can only mean one thing the festival season is upon us!

Music festivals are all about a good party so are weddings, how about combining the two and having a "Wedstival"  A celebrity trend that has emerged over recent years think Kate Moss and Jamie Hince or Matthew McConaughey and Camilia Alves all having 3-5 days wedding celebrations. These Wedstivals are personalised rollicking-good-time weddings that emulate music festivals or grown up school camps for those who want to do something a bit less traditional and remember a weekend of festivities.

So now we have the concept of the Wedstival how do you go about planning one. Although a celebrity craze you do not need a celebrity budget. There is fantastic blog Festival brides that has loads of brilliant ideas to get you started. Location is key so pick your spot well, many farms cater for this and a large open field is a good starting point, to create ample space for the ceremony, an area  for games such as croquet, petanque and giant connect four and obviously ample rooms for tents. In terms of food you are looking at Hog roasts, a summer buffet or catering trucks all eaten informally that evoke a sense of a street festival.

As a bride you still want to look amazing, well it is your wedding day after all so what do you wear to a Wedstival. The key is to tailor your dress to the whole theme, a structured Vera Wang is not going to work here, think along the lines bohemia, pretty, relaxed and floaty.

Hair accessories are key to completing the Wedstival look. Below are some of our suggestions.

And finally here are a few images from our Flo & Percy real brides that have embraced the Wedstival look to provide some real life inspiration.
