Flo & Percy on BBC1 Strictly Come Dancing

We were thrilled to see Natalie Cassidy on Strictly Come Dancing wearing our Moulin Headband. The stylist at 'Strictly' decided for her to wear the band the other way round making it stand proud against a bun,  and how gorgeous does she look!  If you missed it on Saturday night click the Strictly link above and view the episode now. You danced with such enthusiasm Natalie and are still our favourite here at Flo & Percy! We are honoured that you wore one of our designs, thank you..

Love My Dress

A past client turned Wedding Journo...

It is always lovely to keep in touch with our past Brides and find out what they are up to post wedding, one of our Brides and now friends is Annabel and we thought you might be interested in reading about her new venture..

Annabel Beeforth loved her wedding dress so much she set up a blog and name it: Love my Dress. She muses about all things lovely, vintage and girly and features her favourite wedding products. Of particular interest is her write up on her own wedding and watch out for her features on other beautiful weddings. Here is few words from the creator herself:

My wonderful Wedding in Whitby took place on the very first day of Spring this year. I spent lots of time on the internet prior to my wedding, but of all the Blogs I used to seek inspiration in designing and styling my own special day, there didn’t seem to be a single one that pulled together a selection of offerings under the themes that influenced me most; vintage, glamour, art-deco etc and the fashions of the 1920’s and 1930’s, and so an idea was born, and I set out to create my own.
It didn’t take long to figure a name for my Blog; ‘Love My Dress’ was a pseudonym I used in a wedding planning forum. It just seemed to so perfectly suit the identity of the Blog I wanted to develop, especially so as I now have a complete obsession with vintage and vintage inspired wedding dresses! I am married to a man who has a Degree in Fashion Design and who used to run his own high-fashion womens wear label and who still designs bespoke wear for private clients, so I’ve been surrounded by a world of gorgeous dresses for sometime now!
Love My Dress was created to enable me to catalogue and share all my fabulous finds; My readers could be anyone from a Bride to Be, a Newlywed with new-found passions for vintage and glamorous fashion, or general lover of all things particularly gorgeous. My aim is to inspire the imagination of all my readers, and introduce them to a selection of some suppliers of some of the most discerning and stylish products and services available. I figured that there are already so many wedding related blogs out there offering the usual – Love My Dress is all about raising the profile of only the most discerning, and unusual.

Thank you Annabel for sharing it with Flo & Percy and we wish you lots of luck!

A very special Bride

This year we had the pleasure of making a bespoke tiara and matching jewellery for the lovely Beth who is otherwise known as Yasmin. Beth is a professional model and we had previously collaborated in a couple of projects and that is how we got to know her. This Summer on a beautiful Greek Island, Beth married her beau and looked stunning as always. Not only is Beth a very professional and beautiful model she is beautiful on the inside too ( and a very clever girl as well I might add!) some people really seem to have it all! Beth has been modelling to finance her degree and so Flo & Percy gave her wedding day jewels as a gift. We heart you Beth and hope we can work together again. I must also mention that these pictures were taken by her friend, fantastic photographer, model and all round entrepreneur Sarah Johnson, please check out her site, she takes an amazing photo. At Flo & Percy we have met some amazing people, but these two girls are very special.

A satisfied and lovely customer.......

Today we are featuring a Bride, who has written a few words for us about her experience as a Flo & Percy customer...

A couple of days after placing my order, postie presented me with a scrumptious surprise. I could barely contain my excitement and had to take myself up to my bedroom and have a 'quiet and composed' moment whilst I very carefully began to unravel the packaging. Inside, were 2 little cardboard boxes - necessary casing for the delicate contents within. Each box was prettily branded with Flo and Percy imagery and a little black ribbon. Inside, lay the items I had ordered, each delicately wrapped in black tissue paper. My love-affair with Flo and Percy was very solidly cemented at that very moment. I simply adore my Flo and Percy accessories (The Shearer Cuff and Shearer Comb – photographs from my wedding are now being used to illustrate both items on the F&P website) and am keeping them safe as an heirloom for my daughter.

I can honestly lay my hand on my heart and declare that my BESTEST of customer service experience (by far) was with the very delightful Kirstie Taylor. Kirstie is one of those people you come across in life that has an honest warmth and enthusiasm about her. She is clearly very passionate about what she does - this is more than evident when you take a look at her hand-crafted, sublime creations (only love & sheer talent could produce such beautiful pieces), but it is even more evident when you begin communicating with her; Kirstie made me feel like I was her one and only customer and I got a very genuine sense of her wanting to be a part of my wedding planning excitement.

Thank you Annabel, for your extra kind words. It is important to mention that Annabel's lovely wedding pictures were taken by Karen Mcgowran and we thank her for letting use them. Take a look at her site as she is a terrific photographer and on our recommended list.

Tomorrow, we will tell you What Annabel is up to now......so keep watching!

Accessory Trends by Flo & Percy

We are often asked by the press to predict bridal accessory trends and this month we are in a popular trade magazine talking about our views for 2010. We are heavily inspired by main stream fashion, take the Gatsby Collection for example, we work on Collections a year in advance and predicted the trend in sequin and beadwork correctly. There are so many sequin dresses and beaded jackets around in fashion this season and the Gatsby pieces are a perfect accompaniment. Also a little ambitiously we also launched the Wonderland Collection, sparkly pieces to make a statement was the aim that we fulfilled. Anyway, above is the extract from this months Bridal Attire magazine. Click on the photo to read the comment.

eces, making the tiara a little redundant I think. Brides now want to make a dramatic statement in their hair to complement the simpler gowns that have become popular in more recent times, so we have designed some fabulously eye-catching pieces as part of our Wonderland Collection in order to fulfil this demand.”

Lovely Gillian makes a beautiful Bride

Gillian chose the Bara headband for her wedding day and we are delighted that she took the time to send in some pics. Love the double strand of pearls that she has teamed it with, it makes an elegant match. Many congratulations from all at F&P!

"Thought I would send you a couple of pictures of me wearing your Bara headband. I absolutely loved it, and still put it on for a few minutes each day, I can't bear to pack it away!"

Elizabeth gets married!

Doesn't Elizabeth look glamourous and elegant in her one off vintage tiara, the little bit of height she has achieved with her hair really sets it off! Many congratulations Elizabeth and thanks so much for the beautiful photo.

"'I can honestly say my tiara really topped the dress off perfectly. We really went for glamour and as the photos show and it was perfect for this. Not to OTT but glamerous enough for people to love the detail, I had so many comments on the day."

Congratulations Fiona and Steven

A lovely photo received today shows one of our brides in The Charisse tiara. Many thanks to Fiona's Mum for the picture and many congratulations to the happy couple.
